Wedding photography is something that I never thought I would enjoy as much as I do. I love being a part of the day without getting in the way. I aim to be as discrete as possible while still capturing the pictures that tell the story. The best compliment I get is when a couple see the photos and say they didn’t even know I was there at any particular moment!
I have been passionate about photography since I was about 4, using an old Kodak Box Brownie, and a number of years ago I went back to university to study commercial photography. Since then I have been a full-time photographer working in many different areas; slowly building my knowledge and skills. I have now been photographing weddings for around 10 years and this is now my main area of work.
Over the next few weeks I will be writing about my experiences of covering every part of the wedding from the proposal to the engagement, getting ready in the morning, arriving at the venue, the ceremony, the first celebrations, the cake, speeches and meal, first dance and going home. I cover all of these during a full day wedding – I find it the best way to get to know the couple and their guests and create a complete story of the day.
Come with me on this journey and share the joy!
