The Ceremony is the heart of Your day
When a couple declares their love for each other in front of family and friends during their chosen ceremony, my aim, as the photographer, is to be as discrete as possible while still making sure I record the events that are so special.
I always check with the celebrant beforehand if there is anything they do not want me to do and any particular aspects to the ceremony I should look out for. It may be in a hotel lounge or a registry office, a church, within formal gardens or by a river – each ceremony is as different as every couple.
First is the arrival at the venue and the nervous waiting…
Then there can be an exchange of vows and rings, the lighting of candles, drinking from a quaich, maybe a hand-fasting or jumping the broom and finally, the signing of the register…
Eventually, two people will emerge (perhaps to the sound of the bagpipes!) from the space as a couple and begin the next part of their lives together.
2018 has been a busy year for me covering weddings so I hope that you have enjoyed this small selection of photos I have taken from an amazing range of ceremonies I have been fortunate to be a part of this year so far.
